Abstract
Within the framework of the International Conference on Communication and Applied Technologies, this workshop focuses on a crucial topic in the contemporary context: digital competence. In an era defined by accelerated digitalization, profound reconfigurations are occurring in communicative and educational environments, bringing with them far-reaching social, pedagogical, and communicational implications.
This workshop opens a space for analysis and discussion on digital competence as a connecting element between education and communication, and as a strategic skill for the full exercise of citizenship in the digital age. Education faces the challenge of training reflective, ethical, and creative digital citizens capable of building knowledge, innovating, and participating actively in the digital public sphere.
Digital competence, understood as an advanced form of communicative competence, requires thinking of the digital citizen as an actor with the capacity to interpret, produce, transform, and share information in multiple languages and formats, in increasingly complex and dynamic communication ecosystems.
This workshop is not only conceived as an academic exchange space but also as a platform to explore innovative practices and design strategies to strengthen digital competence in various educational and cultural contexts. We invite participants to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue that connects education, technology, and communication, and allows for the discovery of horizons that emerge when digital competence becomes a transversal axis for the collective construction of knowledge.
