Registration

ICOMTA’27 has established a participation model that clearly distinguishes between Conference registration and, where applicable, full-paper publication.

Registration is completed individually by each author participating in ICOMTA, while publication fees are charged per paper and apply only to contributions that have been preselected to proceed to the publication stage.

Publishing a paper is not required to participate in ICOMTA’27.

1. Registration and Participation in ICOMTA’27

Registration is individual for each author

Acceptance of an abstract does not automatically constitute registration for ICOMTA’27. To participate in the event and, if preselected, submit full papers, all authors must be duly registered.

Once their abstract has been accepted, authors wishing to participate in ICOMTA’27 must complete their registration individually.

ICOMTA’27 offers two registration categories to encourage broad international participation and adapt registration costs to the economic context of each participant’s country of institutional affiliation:

  • Reduced ICOMTA’27 Registration Fee
  • General ICOMTA’27 Registration Fee

The registration fee remains the same regardless of whether participation is in person or online.

Reduced ICOMTA Registration Fee

The reduced ICOMTA’27 registration fee applies to authors whose primary institutional affiliation is located in an economy classified by the World Bank as low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle-income.

Authorship PositionReduced Individual Fee
First author€55
Second author€30
Third author€30
Fourth and subsequent authors€15 per author

For reference, this category currently includes countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, South Africa, and other countries classified by the World Bank as low- or middle-income economies.

The list can be consulted here.

General ICOMTA Registration Fee

The general ICOMTA registration fee applies to authors whose primary institutional affiliation is located in an economy classified by the World Bank as high-income.

Authorship PositionGeneral Individual Fee
First author€75
Second author€40
Third author€40
Fourth and subsequent authors€15 per author

For reference, this category includes countries such as Germany, Australia, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

Which Registration Fee Applies to Me?

The applicable fee is determined by the country of each author’s primary institutional affiliation, according to the World Bank’s income classification of economies for the 2026–2027 period.

The author’s nationality, country of birth, or country from which the payment is made does not determine the applicable fee.

In cases of dual international affiliation, the primary affiliation declared by the author in the proposal submitted to ICOMTA’27 will be used as the reference.

2. Full-Paper Publication

For Preselected Contributions Only

Publication is a subsequent stage, separate from registration for ICOMTA’27.

Among the accepted abstracts, the Scientific Committee will preselect those contributions that, based on their quality and scientific potential, may proceed to the publication stage.

Authors of preselected contributions will receive an invitation to submit an extended version of their work in accordance with the requirements of each publication option.

No publication fee is required to submit an initial abstract or have it evaluated.

Preselection does not imply automatic acceptance of the paper for publication. Full manuscripts must successfully complete the corresponding review process and meet the scientific, editorial, and formatting requirements of the selected publication series.

Publication Fees

If a paper is finally accepted for publication in one of the ICOMTA’27 publication series, the publication fee is charged per paper, not per author.

Publication SeriesFee per Paper
Springer€400
Atlantis Press€350
Tirant lo Blanch€280
ICOMTA Special Issues€0

The publication fee applies only to contributions that proceed to this stage and meet the requirements established for the corresponding publication option.

Publication fees are separate from individual Conference registration fees.

Authors who are members of the Scientific Committee or who have been invited to review other contributions may request a €50 discount on publication fees.

Registration and Publication: Two Separate Fees

REGISTRATION

An individual payment is required for each author of an accepted proposal.

Registration allows authors to participate in ICOMTA’27 and present a contribution whose abstract has been accepted.

  • Reduced fee: €55 for the first author / €30 for the second and third authors / €15 for the fourth and subsequent authors.
  • General fee: €75 for the first author / €40 for the second and third authors / €15 for the fourth and subsequent authors.

PUBLICATION

A single payment is required per paper. This fee applies only to preselected contributions that proceed to the publication stage and meet the established requirements.

Publication SeriesFee per Paper
Springer€400
Atlantis Press€350
Tirant lo Blanch€280
ICOMTA Special Issues€0

Authors who are members of the Scientific Committee or who have been invited to review other contributions may request a €50 discount on publication fees.

Invoicing

ICOMTA allows participants to request invoices for all payments made, including Conference participation fees and, where applicable, associated publication fees.

Separate or Combined Invoicing

Authors and institutions may choose between the following options:

Separate Invoices

Separate invoices may be issued for each fee or payment. For example, one invoice for ICOMTA registration or participation and another subsequent invoice for the publication Article Processing Charge (APC).

Combined Invoice

Where applicable, a single invoice may also be requested to combine several payments, including registration fees for one or more authors and/or APCs for one or more papers.

This allows a university, research centre, project, or other institution to request, for example, a single invoice covering:

  • Registration fees for several authors;
  • One or more publication APCs;
  • Both registration fees and APCs associated with participation in ICOMTA.

How to Request an Invoice

Billing details must be provided in the registration and payment form, specifying whether an individual invoice is required or whether the payment should be included in a combined invoice.

For combined invoices, all payments to be grouped must be clearly identified, including the corresponding authors and, where applicable, the papers to which the payments relate.

When an invoice must be issued in the name of a university, institution, company, or research project, the entity’s complete billing and tax details must be provided.

For special invoicing requests or to coordinate combined institutional payments, please contact the organising team:

icomtamail@gmail.com

Important: Combining payments into a single invoice does not change the nature of the fees. Participation fees are calculated individually for each author, while APCs are charged per paper.

Attendance-Only Participation

It is also possible to participate in ICOMTA’27 without presenting a contribution or seeking publication.

This option is intended for individuals interested in attending the Conference’s academic activities as participants.

A separate fee applies to each participant.

  • In-person attendance: €50
  • Online attendance: €30

Attendance-only participation does not include the presentation of a contribution or the publication of a paper.

An attendance certificate will be issued to participants who attend the keynote sessions and at least four of the ICOMTA’27 thematic sessions. Attendance at these sessions will be verified by the Conference organisers.
